Clara is a Bar Scholar. She joined Chambers after completing pupillage with Ms Rachel Lam SC, Mr Giles Surman, Mr Calvin Cheuk and Ms Sabrina Ho.
Clara graduated with First Class Honours in her LLB degree from HKU. She then read for the BCL at Oxford as a Hong Kong Scholar, where she obtained overall distinction and was awarded the Oxford Law Faculty Prize in Commercial Remedies for ranking 1st in the paper.
Clara is developing a broad civil practice, with a particular emphasis on insolvency and bankruptcy, company and commercial, trusts and probate, and arbitration-related Court matters.
Clara has various experience representing banks (including HSBC, BOCHK and a syndicate of banks led by HSB), financial institutions (including China CITIC), investment funds and asset management entities, professional clients (including liquidators, administrators and auditors), leading insurance companies (including FWD and Prudential), as well as multi-national corporations (including FedEx).
She also has significant experience acting both for and against listed companies (including Jiayuan, China Tobacco, Zhongliang Holdings, China Zenith, Wisdom Wealth etc), education institutions, and high net-worth individuals.
Clara is regularly instructed to appear as a led junior and in her own right. She has appeared before the Court of Final Appeal, the Court of Appeal and the Court of First Instance, and has experience appearing as sole trial advocate (conducting cross-examination in Punti).
She is also currently serving as a member of the Company Law Committee of the Hong Kong Bar Association.
