Vincent is a commercial barrister called in 2016. He frequently acts for a diverse range of financial institutions and insurance companies, capitalising on his experience prior to his career in law with Goldman Sachs and as a top 1% graduate from the HKUST Global Business program. Following his distinguished academic career with scholarships awarded for a visiting undergraduate year at Harvard University and BCL at University of Oxford, Vincent has developed expertise in many areas of civil and commercial litigation. The highlights are as follows.
Enforcement: Vincent has vast experience in enforcement of arbitration awards and judgments. He recently acted for an applicant in obtaining a receivership order in aid of enforcement of a mainland award in Hong Kong: [2025] 2 HKLRD 1024. He also resisted an application to set aside an order for enforcing an LCIA award in Hong Kong (on the purported grounds that the applicant did not have a fair hearing due to the hearing being virtual): [2023] 3 HKLRD 654. For enforcement of judgments, Vincent acted for a unit owner in obtaining and enforcing a mandatory injunction against the IO/manager of the prestigious housing estate: [2023] 5 HKC 385, and for judgment creditor in obtaining an order for imprisonment under O.49B [2018] HKCFI 788.
Commercial: Vincent regularly handles complex commercial cases. He acted for the successful appellant in resisting an injunction to restrain the completion of a General Offer in taking over a listed company [2024] HKCA 524. He also acted for the successful fund and manager in resisting an injunction to mandate how it would vote in a scheme of arrangement meeting for the bonds held under the fund: [2023] HKCFI 2727. Recently, he acted for successful defendants who established the defence of sham arrangement: [2024] HKCFI 1380.
Personal Estate: Vincent is frequently briefed for personal estate matters involving mentally incapacitated persons (MIPs) with high net worth. Vincent acted in the first reported case in Hong Kong [2019] HKCFI 2919 where the Court’s protective jurisdiction over MIPs was invoked to make directions for access matters. Vincent also regularly handles applications for appointment of committee.
Employment: Vincent regularly handles cases involving restraint of trade and employment benefits. Most recently, he acted for a successful appellant in [2025] HKCFI 728 concerning the calculation of holiday pay for employees earning base salary and commission.
Vincent is also experienced in company & insolvency law, cross-border shareholders’ disputes, and land law, and frequently acts for schools and education institutions. Please refer to the list of selected cases below.
From 2016 to 2021, Vincent has served as a Lecturer (Non-clinical) at the University of Hong Kong, teaching Equity & Trusts. He was also appointed as a Deputy Presiding Officer of the Labour Tribunal in November to December 2023.
