Cherry Xu from Des Voeux Chambers was invited by Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP to speak at the seminar “How do arbitrations in Asia address users’ demand for efficiency and diversity” during Hong Kong Arbitration Week.
In this panel, Tan Sri Cecil Abraham from Kuala Lumpur joined Cherry to share measures and procedures for making arbitrations more efficient, as well as the latest developments and best practices to ensure greater diversity in terms of the appointment of arbitrators from gender, ethnic and geographical perspectives. The panel also addressed participants’ questions and concerns in these areas. The session was moderated by Ing Loong Yang and Justin Williams, both partners from Akin.
