The inaugural seminar of DVC’s Trusts, Estates and Succession Series took place at the DVC Conference Centre yesterday (21 Sep), with a full house in attendance. DVC Kerby Lau hosted the session, with Alfred Ip from Hugill & Ip and Joshua Yeung from DVC joined as panelists.
The panel discussed the topic, “Distributing and dealing with trust assets: the boundaries of discretion,” examining the role and function of discretion in the distribution and use of assets, guiding factors for exercising discretion, and practical tips on how to avoid pitfalls.
DVC’s Trusts, Estates and Succession Series is a collection of seminars and events on topical issues and developments in the law concerning trusts and estates, being explored through the practitioner’s perspective. It aims to create a forum for the exchange of ideas between different stakeholders and practitioners.
