DVC was honoured to have Professor David Llewelyn of King’s College London and the Singapore Management University to share his insights on recent IP law developments in Singapore at the DVC Conference Centre last week. Winnie Tam SC, Head of Chambers of DVC hosted the session.
In his insightful speech, Professor Llewelyn shared updates in the Singapore IP sector, including the latest trademark decisions, the new and updated Copyright Act 2021, the new Simplified Process for IP claims and some recent developments in breach of confidence actions. He also analysed points of divergence between Singapore and Hong Kong trademark law from the unique perspective of an IP Adjudicator at the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore.
The seminar was well attended by legal practitioners and representatives from the Intellectual Property Department of the HKSARG. Audiences were enchanted by the thought-provoking speech and engaged in lively discussions regarding the probable implications of legal issues.
