On Monday afternoon (21 Nov), as one of the events in the Hong Kong Maritime Week 2022, the Forum “Why Resolve Maritime Disputes in Hong Kong” was successfully held at the SCIA(HK)’s office with full house attendance and online participation. DVC’s Sabrina Ho acted as the host of the Forum.
The event was graced by the attendance of the Secretary for Justice Mr. Paul TK Lam, SBS, SC, JP and the Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr. Lam Sai-hung, GBS, JP. Mr. Paul Lam SC delivered the Opening Remarks to officially kick-start the Forum.
Renowned maritime law practitioners and experts in the industry, including Ms. Rosita Lau, MH, Mr. Lianjun LI, Mr. Danny Mok, Mr. Brad Wang, Mr. Damien Laracy and Mr. Edward Liu MH, shared their views on the distinctive advantages of Hong Kong as an international maritime centre and an ideal forum for resolving Maritime disputes. Topical issues including third-party funding in maritime arbitrations and the Outcome Related Fee Structure Arrangement for arbitration were discussed in the Forum. Mr. Benjamin Wong, Head of Transport and Industrial, Invest Hong Kong delivered the Closing Remarks and concluded the fruitful evening.
