The first day of the HKIAC Advanced Arbitrator Training Programme (21 April) saw over 20 arbitrators and experienced arbitration counsel from mainland China and Hong Kong gathering in person for lively exchanges and networking.
Winnie Tam SBS SC JP, along with independent arbitrator Joe Liu, shared their practical experience on the preparation and conduct of arbitration hearings. Winnie discussed the tools employed by the arbitral tribunal in maintaining control over the proceedings both internally within the tribunal and throughout the hearing, to ensure a fair, smooth and efficient dispute resolution process.
