On 2 November 2026, Des Voeux Chambers signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) in Chongqing, one of China’s leading law schools.
The DVC delegation was led by Dr William Wong, S.C., Head of Des Voeux Chambers, together with John Hui, Charlie Liu, Isaac Wong and Bella Chen. The delegation was warmly received by Party Secretary Tang Qingyang, Vice President Li Yan and Vice President Wang Huaiyong, along with faculty and students of the University.
The agreement builds on discussions held in Hong Kong this summer and marks a new chapter in the relationship between Chambers and the University. Both sides share a commitment to nurturing legal talent through practical training. Through a programme of academic and professional exchanges, they will bring Mainland legal education and Hong Kong common law practice closer together and give students and practitioners a better understanding of each other’s systems. The partnership builds on DVC’s longstanding work in supporting legal talent for an increasingly cross-border world.
DVC looks forward to working with SWUPL and to further exchanges and collaboration in the years ahead.
