Profile

Zixin joined Chambers after serving pupillage with Mr Alan Kwong (as he then was), Mr Derek Chan SC, Dr Benny Lo, and Mr Jason Yu. He has a broad civil practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work. He also has experience acting as a tribunal secretary in arbitrations. Alongside his practice, he teaches Equity and Trusts and Criminal Law at HKU.

Before he studied law, Zixin read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford. He obtained his JD from HKU (ranking first in his class) and his BCL from Oxford (with distinction). He is a Bar Scholar.

  • The One v Swatch [2022] 1 HKLRD 975 — acted for landlord of commercial premises in obtaining summary judgment against former tenant for rent arrears (led by Christopher Chain SC)
  • Welmetal Resources v Able Engineering [2022] HKCFI 2963, [2023] HKCFI 1172 — acted for seller in dispute over termination of contract for sale and purchase of steel bars (as sole advocate)

  • Wah Sung Construction v Cheerwide [2024] HKCFI 45 — acted for architect in defending claims of negligence and breach of authority (led by Martin Hui SC)

  • Dr David But v Hong Kong Medical Consultants [2025] HKCFI 1102 — acted for doctor in contractual dispute with former employer (with Barbara Wong)
  • Salleh Abu Baker v Anway [2021] HKCFI 3407, [2023] HKCA 187 — acted for company in defending contractual claim by former employee (with Alan Kwong, as he then was)

  • Re Evershine Group [2023] 1 HKLRD 1386 — appeal on approach to winding up petitions where debt is misstated in statutory demand (with Benny Lo)
  • Re New Bright International [2025] HKCFI 2351 — acted for minority shareholder in unfair prejudice dispute (led by William Wong SC and Christopher Chain SC, with Sharon Yuen)

 

Banking and Finance

  • Luso Bank v SFund International [2023] HKCFI 2936 — acted for state-owned enterprise in dispute with bank over loan guarantee (led by Douglas Lam SC, with Sabrina Ho)

  • HKSAR v Connie Sham [2025] HKCFI 3086 — acted for defendant in obtaining community service order for seven counts of theft of clients’ money (led by Anthony Neoh SC, with Barbara Wong)
