David Tsang to Join DVC’s List of Independent Neutrals

30 Jun 2026

We are delighted to announce that our member, David Tsang, will join DVC’s List of Independent Neutrals following his formal retirement from practice as a barrister, with effect from 1 July 2026.

David began his professional career in 1986 as a quantity surveyor, gaining broad and practical expertise in building and civil engineering projects across Hong Kong and Mainland China. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1994 and, in the same year, was admitted as a barrister in Hong Kong. He subsequently qualified as a PRC lawyer in 1995.

As a member of Des Voeux Chambers since 1996, David has practised exclusively as a barrister for nearly three decades. His practice has encompassed advisory work, drafting, advocacy, arbitration, and litigation, with a particular focus on construction and commercial matters. In addition to acting as counsel, David has served as sole arbitrator in a considerable number of cases and is currently a member of both the HKIAC Panel of Arbitrators and the HKIA/HKIS Joint Panel of Arbitrators.

Drawing on his extensive experience in construction and commercial disputes, David will continue to accept appointments as an arbitrator in both international and domestic matters.

DVC’s List of Independent Neutrals comprises experienced professionals who resolve disputes in a neutral capacity through arbitration, mediation, adjudication, private judging, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Members of the List practise independently as neutrals and do not carry on practice as barristers or advocates.

We are honoured to welcome David to our distinguished List of Independent Neutrals and look forward to his continued success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter of his professional career.
