Des Voeux Chambers is pleased to share that Dr Benny Lo has been appointed as one of five arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) Ad Hoc Division for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
Dr Lo joins an esteemed international panel comprising Salman Al-Ansari (Qatar), Steven Bainbridge (Canada/UAE), Professor Yoshihisa Hayakawa (Japan), and Ian Hunt (New Zealand/United Kingdom).
The CAS Ad Hoc Division will be based in Japan throughout the Games and operate onsite during the Games to provide expedited resolution of sports-related disputes. The Division plays a vital role in ensuring that disputes are resolved promptly and effectively, thereby supporting the integrity and smooth conduct of the Games.
Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the CAS is an independent institution established to resolve sports-related disputes through arbitration and mediation. Founded in 1984, its rulings are final and binding, earning it the reputation as the “supreme court of world sport.”
