In honour of the late Harry Liu, DVC awards full postgraduate scholarships to its 9-month pupils. Chambers is pleased to announce that Cyrus Chua, Tinny Chan and Euchine Ng are the Harry Liu Scholars for 2017-2018.
Chambers is also pleased to award Brian Fan the inaugural John Griffiths QC Prize for his academic achievements. John Griffiths QC is a former head of Chambers and former Attorney General of Hong Kong from 1979 to 1983. He remains a door tenant of Chambers.
The awardees:
Cyrus graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Triple First and prizes for best performance in EU law, conflicts of laws, land law and tort law. He has been adjudged best speaker and champion of a number of competitive moots. He will be undertaking the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford in the year 2017-2018.
Tinny graduated from the University of Oxford with First Class Honours and a number of awards from Merton College. She represented Oxford in the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and was awarded the 4th best oralist prize for individual performance in the international rounds. She will be pursuing the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford in the year 2017-2018.
Euchine graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Double First and has received a string of prizes and scholarships over the years, including 5 scholarships awarded by Trinity College Cambridge. Euchine will pursue the Master of Laws at Cambridge in the next academic year.
Brian graduated with a top first from the University of Hong Kong. He was awarded prizes in various international and domestic mooting competitions including a championship and best oralist award. Brian is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship to pursue the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford in 2017-2018.
