DVC members José Maurellet SC and Adrian Lai were invited to speak at the “Arbitration Salon” session on “Recent Developments and Practices in International Arbitration”, held last week in Beijing as part of the 2025 Beijing CBD Forum Annual Conference.
Jointly organised by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Beijing Lawyers Association and the Hong Kong Bar Association, the event brought together arbitration experts from the Mainland and Hong Kong to discuss cutting-edge developments in international arbitration, highlights of the 2024 HKIAC Rules, and other topical issues in the field.
Welcome remarks were delivered by the Vice-president of Beijing Lawyers Association, Ms. Lixia Zhang, the Secretary-General of HKIAC, Ms Joanne Lau, the Chairman of Hong Kong Bar Association, Mr José Maurellet SC, and Deputy Director of Professional Committee of Commercial Arbitration Law of Beijing Lawyers Association, Mr Chaoyi Ji. Following the opening, Adrian Lai delivered a keynote address on “Global Trends in International Arbitration”, sharing valuable insights on evolving practices and emerging challenges in the field.
