Justice Nick Segal joins DVC as a Neutral Member

Des Voeux Chambers is delighted to welcome Justice Nick Segal joining DVC’s List of Neutrals. Nick is a judge of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands (assigned to the Financial Services Division), an Assistant Justice of the Supreme Court of Bermuda. He also sits from time to time as a Deputy High Court Judge in the Hong Kong Court of First Instance.

Nick has had a distinguished legal and judicial career spanning several decades. As a judge, he has presided over and authored judgments on a wide range of disputes in corporate, financial, restructuring and insolvency, trust, commercial, fraud and professional duties law, many with international elements.

Prior to his judicial career, Nick was a solicitor with more than thirty years of experience at leading international law firms. He was a partner at Allen & Overy and Freshfields in London and also as a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. Academically, he has taught post-graduates at Oxford University for over twenty years, continuing to make a significant contribution to the legal education.

DVC’s List of Neutrals consists of experts in resolving disputes in a neutral role through mediation, arbitration, adjudication, private judging, or any other form of alternative dispute resolution, without practising as barristers.

Members of the List of Neutrals are each an independent professional, and does not carry on practice as barristers or advocates.
