Organised by Hong Kong Institute of Construction Adjudicators (HKICAdj) and proudly sponsored by Des Voeux Chambers, the 3rd HKICAdj Adjudication Conference was held on 20 June 2025 at the South China International Arbitration Center in Hong Kong. The theme for this year’s Conference was Unlocking Sustainable Cash Flow through the Security of Payment Schemes.
The conference commenced with opening remarks from The Honorary president of HKICAdj Ir Dr. Christopher To, followed by a keynote delivered by Honour, Ir Chan Chi Ho, Johnny, Deputy Secretary for Development (Works).
Kaiser Leung was invited to speak on the topic of “Lessons Learnt from Construction Adjudication: Practical Experience in Different Jurisdictions” along with panelists Mr Glenn Haley (Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner), Mr Kelvin Aw (CMS Singapore) and The Hon. Justice Dato’ Lee Swee Seng. The panel (moderated by Mr Richard Poon (China Railway First Group)) explored adjudication practices in Singapore and Malaysia, offering valuable cross-jurisdictional insights and guidance on the application of Hong Kong’s Security of Payment regime.
The event was well attended by many industry leaders and professionals, coming together to explore the transformative potential of Security of Payment schemes in the construction sector.
