The Society of Construction Law Hong Kong One Day International Conference was successfully held on 8 November 2024. The theme for this year’s Conference was Building Resilience: Navigating Adversity in the Construction Industry.
Kaiser Leung took part as a panel speaker in the session on Alternative Fee Arrangements for Construction Disputes (Third Party Funding, Contingency & Success Fees and Others).
Kaiser had the pleasure of being joined by Glenn Haley (Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner), Ruth Stackpool-Moore (Omni Bridgeway) and John McMillan (Keating Chambers), who moderated the panel discussions.
The arbitration regime in Hong Kong has gone through a number of important legislative changes in recent years. Third party funding for arbitration and outcome related fee structure agreement in arbitration are now permitted in Hong Kong. The interactive session explored and debated the opportunities and practical considerations in alternative fee arrangements in construction disputes.
