Winnie Tam SC gives Keynote Speech at World Intellectual Property Day 2026 Seminar in Shenzhen

The World Intellectual Property Day 2026 Seminar, hosted by the China (Shenzhen) Intellectual Property Arbitration Centre and Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), was held yesterday to a full house in Shenzhen. The event was jointly organised by the Nanshan Innovation Development Promotion Center Shenzhen, the China (Shenzhen) Intellectual Property Arbitration Center, and the South China International Arbitration Center (HK).

Focusing on the theme “Trade Secret Protection in a Global Perspective”, the seminar examined recent developments and jurisprudence in trade secret protection from a comparative angle. Speakers delved into the evolving international legal framework and approaches to cross‑border dispute resolution.

Delivering a keynote address titled “Protection of Trade Secrets in Hong Kong: Case Analysis”, Ms. Winnie Tam SC drew on Hong Kong’s legal framework governing confidential information and trade secrets. She shared practical insights into judicial approaches and evidentiary aspects of this type of cases in international disputes.

The seminar attracted participants from high‑tech enterprises, IP practitioners, and industry associations. Discussions centered on building compliance frameworks for trade secret protection and addressing the practical challenges of cross‑border enforcement.
