Justice Georges Affaki joins DVC as an Independent Neutral

Des Voeux Chambers is delighted to welcome Justice Georges Affaki joining DVC’s List of Independent Neutrals. 

Justice Affaki brings a wealth of experience and expertise in both the judicial and arbitration fields. He is a Justice of the Qatar International Court, a Chartered Arbitrator, and a member of the ICSID Panels of Arbitrators and of Conciliators. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration and has served two terms on the ICC International Court of Arbitration, concluding in June 2021. 

With broad international investment treaty and commercial arbitration experience, Justice Affaki is empaneled with the leading international arbitral institutions on five continents. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) and member of the ACICA Practice & Procedures Board. In 2019, Justice Affaki was appointed a Foreign Trade Counselor of France by Decree of the Prime Minister in recognition for his expertise in international trade and dispute resolution. He has been constantly renewed in that position.

These Neutrals are each an independent professional, and do not carry on practice as barristers or advocates.
