Last Thursday (14 Dec), the second DVC’s Trusts, Estates and Succession Series seminar took place at the DVC Conference Centre, well-attended by many representatives in the field. DVC Kerby Lau hosted the session, with Tiffany Wong, Managing Director of Alvarez & Marsal, Teresa Wu and Terri Ha from DVC joining as panelists.
The panel discussed a very practical topic – 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐯. 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞, which concerns industry professionals generally. Speakers explored the when and how a trustee or administrator being replaced and/or appointed, the conditions when the Court will intervene, and how much is left to the choice of the beneficiaries or interested parties, as well as the matters that will be considered in choosing the right candidate.
DVC’s Trusts, Estates and Succession Series is a collection of seminars and events on topical issues and developments in the law concerning trusts and estates, being explored through the practitioner’s perspective. It aims to create a forum for the exchange of ideas between different stakeholders and practitioners.
