Jacqueline Law from Des Voeux Chambers delivered a lecture on Advocacy and Hearing Skills in International Commercial Arbitration on 15 November, as part of the 2025 Autumn Programme on International Commercial Arbitration Theory and Practice at Jilin University.
This programme, jointly conducted with the DLA Piper, forms part of Jilin University’s Master Programme in Foreign-related Legal Studies. Each year, it brings together experienced legal practitioners to provide postgraduate students with practice-oriented lectures in international arbitration.
During the lecture, Jacqueline, together with DLA piper team and Cedric Yeung, addressed key aspects of effective advocacy in international arbitration, including hearing preparation, oral submissions, cross-examination skills, and post-hearing work. The lecture also explored interim measures and the judicial approach to arbitral awards in Hong Kong.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to DLA piper for the kind invitation and look forward to further opportunities for meaningful exchange and collaboration, contributing to the development of future arbitration practitioners.
