Winnie Tam SC had the pleasure of joining a panel of distinguished speakers at a seminar on “International Arbitration Practice” in a China Arbitration Week event co-organized by CIETAC Hong Kong and Rede Chambers. In conjunction with Dr. Anthony Neoh KC, SC, JP, and Paul Starr from King and Wood Mallesons, and Queenie Lau from Temple Chambergs, panellists discussed the recent developments in Hong Kong arbitration law. Clark Wang from Rede Chambers moderated the session.
Winnie’s presentation focused on the recent decision of CFA in the case C v D, as well as some observations regarding the differences in practice between the Mainland and other international arbitration institutions.
The panel drew on their extensive experience dealing with emergency arbitration at CIETAC, state-owned enterprises’ expectations and needs for dispute resolution services when dealing with international business partners, and the impact of exclusive jurisdiction clauses or arbitration clauses on winding up petitions.
